With approximately 50 staff in our Head Office – and over 500 in stores – our business in Australia is big and growing fast. That’s why our third global Head Office is based in Sydney’s up-and-coming Central Business District. It’s close to local shops, restaurants, bars and the station, as well as the idyllic Hyde Park.
Step inside, and you’ll find the same fast-paced, friendly environment that you’ll find in the UK. The office is open plan, with all staff on one floor. There are dress down Fridays and social events for Christmas, Anzac Day and more. Birthdays now come with a day off – an idea, which unsurprisingly, has been very well received!
Stores can be found in cities including Canberra, Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide. In both Head Office and stores, there are fantastic opportunities for promotion. As always with WHSmith, it’s about hard work and motivation. If you know where you want to go, the business will help you get there. Senior leaders are invited on strategy away days – a great way to share good thinking. Meanwhile, charity events happen regularly as both our people and the business love to give something back.
