Buyers – Swindon & London

We have high expectations of our Buying Teams which is why we are always keen to speak to commercially focused Buyers who share our passion for retail. As a Buyer, you can help shape the future of the WHSmith brand by understanding the demands of our business and the opportunities to make an impact within our stores. Ideally experience within our core markets of Stationery, Books, Entertainment and Newspapers & Magazines would be desirable but is not essential. What is important is a good understanding of retail buying and, for our Stationery team, experience of sourcing from the Far East.

Successful applicants will be responsible for determining our offer, whilst being aware of market trends, customer requirements and competitor activity. You will also be responsible for managing trading activities and promotions to deliver maximum sales and profitability. The ability to maintain strong business networks both internally with Head Office and stores staff and externally with suppliers is essential.
